“EPOXY 101 Volume 1 SHAPING with Greg Loehr is a 97 minute instructional dvd that teaches the viewer how to shape EPS Foam into a finished foil ready to glass.
Why Epoxy? Epoxy resin and EPS foam have been around for years now but these materials haven't been widely used because of a scarcity of information of just how easy it is to make surfboards with this new technology. Epoxy resins and hardeners have vastly improved in the last several years making them much easier to use. Boards made with EPS Foam and Epoxy resin tend to be lighter, stronger, flex more and be better for the environment and board maker than traditional foam and resin. Also, due to recent shortages of blanks, it makes even more sense to make boards with EPS foam and Epoxy resin.
EPOXY 101 Volume 1 SHAPING is instructed by the Epoxy Master Greg Loehr who was at the for front of developing Epoxy resin. Greg, a pro surfer in the 80's started his own surfboard company and shaped thousands of boards with his factory based in Florida. During this time He saw the need for better materials. Now two decades later, Greg produces and markets Epoxy resin world wide.
This dvd starts with an explanation on how EPS foam is made and what tools are needed to work with it. Greg shows how to cut custom blanks out of a block of foam which minimizes shaping time. This program teaches all the tricks to shape EPS foam, including concaves and V bottoms.
Watch Greg shape from start to finish 2 surfboards. A Rocket Fish and a 6'2".
After the blank is shaped Greg than covers the mysterious yet simple process of sealing the foam to insure it's lightness, before laminating.

Airbrushing 101 is the final tape in the JC Trilogy on building surfboards and is the industry standard and only video available teaching surfboard graphics.
Learn to paint flames, sunbursts, and other advanced graphics. Airbrushing 101 teaches how to paint a board to look like Balsa wood called “Falsa” and also how to master the art of using paint pens.
